A highly qualified after school governor/ governess is required to care for an intelligent boy aged 4.5. This wonderful family is based in Primrose Hill and all activities are within walking distance. The family live in a fully staffed house and employ and nanny and a variety of tutors already.

The main focus of the role is on developing the boy academically, socially and intellectually. This will include taking appointments/swimming lessons, relaying with tutors/sourcing them, supporting homework and extracurricular activities, including piano and playing chess.

In time, the role would be expanded to educational activities for younger siblings (to prepare for 4+ entry exams) while the boy is with tutors. However, the governor or governess should also be willing to start off the 16-month-old baby girl with some educational activity. It is imperative that candidates therefore have early years tutoring experience.

The boy is very curious and inquisitive but can be stubborn so the governess or governor should be able to engage him in activities and teach him good work ethics and time management.

list of requirements:
– at least 5 years of experience in private households as a governor/ governess ideally to UHNWs
– at least BA in Education or Child Psychology
– First Aid trained
– excellent English
– experience with British educational system
– well-read, naturally curious about the world

A candidate with a particular aptitude for maths would be preferred, but not necessary.

Usual working hours: 2:30pm-6:30pm Mon-Fri plus Saturdays (could be negotiated as to how often; how many hours etc if dealbreaker for an absolutely exceptional person); the more hours they do the more they will earn. There will be more hours available during school holidays.

Salary: £60k-£70k starting salary gross per year based on experience, hours and qualifications but completely open for the right person

Start: flexible, but preferably before February 2021
