1. Who we are

Elite Educational Development (“EED”, “we”, “us”) is a specialist recruitment agency placing nannies, governesses, tutors and private household staff with families worldwide, operating from London and Dubai. EED is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Discretion is the foundation of our business. We treat the personal information of every family and every candidate with the same confidentiality we are known for professionally.

2. The information we collect

If you are a client (family): your name and contact details, information about your family and household relevant to a placement (such as children’s ages, languages spoken, locations and schedules), your requirements for the role, and correspondence with us. We only ask for what we need to make the right introduction.

If you are a candidate: your name and contact details, CV and employment history, qualifications, right-to-work and identity documents, references and our notes from taking them, interview notes, salary expectations, and — where relevant to a role — the results of background checks, including criminal record checks such as an enhanced DBS check, carried out with your knowledge.

If you visit this website: technical data such as your device and browser, and usage data collected through cookies and analytics, as described in our Cookie Policy. If you contact us via WhatsApp, your use of WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.

3. How we use it, and why we may

We use personal information to provide our introduction service: assessing and vetting candidates, understanding client requirements, making introductions, and managing placements. Our lawful bases under UK data protection law are: taking steps to enter into a contract (when you register with us and we begin a search), legitimate interests (running and improving a recruitment business, keeping records of our work, and marketing our services to those who have engaged with us), legal obligation (such as right-to-work checks), and consent where we ask for it — including for criminal record checks, which we handle under the specific conditions the law sets for that kind of information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

4. Who we share it with

Sharing is the purpose of an introduction agency — but it is controlled and minimal. We share candidate profiles with clients, and relevant client requirements with candidates, only where there is a genuine potential match, and only to the extent needed to assess it. Identities and household details are protected until both sides are ready to proceed.

We also use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf: our website host, email and office software, and — where applicable to a role — background-checking services. Each is bound by contract to protect your information. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

5. International transfers

We operate from the UK and the UAE, and we place candidates with families worldwide, so personal information may be transferred between our offices and to clients or candidates outside the UK. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to protect it, including sharing only what a potential placement requires and using appropriate safeguards where the law requires them.

6. How long we keep it

We keep client and candidate records for as long as we have an active relationship, and afterwards for as long as is reasonably needed to meet legal obligations, resolve any questions about past placements, and — for candidates — to consider you for future roles where you have asked us to. If you would like your records removed sooner, contact us and we will action it unless a legal reason requires us to retain something.

7. Security

We restrict access to personal information to those at EED who need it, use reputable providers with appropriate security for storage and communication, and protect this website with encryption (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of the information entrusted to us seriously — it is the basis of our reputation.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, to have your information deleted, to object to or restrict certain uses, to receive your information in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where consent is our basis for using it. To exercise any of these, email info@eedlearning.com — we respond to all requests within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to resolve any concern directly first.
