What can an English-speaking manny do for you?
The schedule of a manny depends on several factors.
A manny contract can be either rota (week on, week off, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off or month on, month off) or can also be 5 or 6 days per week, akin to a governor or governess position.
Rota manny jobs usually involve living in a private separate room or apartment on the family property.
5 or 6 day positions may be live-in or live-out, occasionally sharing a bedroom with the charge(s) (especially if they are very young), and sometimes not.
Manny duties will typically mirror those of a governor.
If the children are of school-going age, with additional tasks of providing overnight care, handling health and medicine, clothing, and often nutrition. Assistance with homework or schooling may or may not be required.
If the children are too young for school (or if you employ a newborn care manny), duties may or may not include accompanying the child to nursery or any sporting activities, similar to a governor.
The schedule is also almost sure to include spending time outdoors in the fresh air (if weather permits), engaging in educational games at home to encourage speech and learning, and reading stories together.
