EED is delighted to be representing a private family in Abu Dhabi, seeking a nurse or experienced senior carer to look after their father, an elderly gentleman with complex medical needs. The family is well known to EED and has a good record as an employer. This role suits someone looking for a stable, long-term placement in a respectful household.
The role centres on daily personal care, support around his ongoing medical treatment, careful monitoring of his health and diet, and providing companionship and a steady, reassuring routine. Live-in or live-out arrangements and the working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily personal care, including washing, dressing, mobility and meals
- Support before and after regular medical treatment, including accompanying him to appointments
- Monitoring his health, wellbeing, fluid and dietary requirements, and reporting any changes to the family and medical team
- Managing medication
- Helping him move around safely, both at home and outside
- Providing companionship, reassurance and a steady daily routine
Candidate Requirements
- A nursing qualification or substantial experience as a senior carer
- Experience with elderly clients with complex medical needs; renal experience a strong advantage
- A calm, patient and discreet manner
- Good spoken English
- Willingness to relocate to Abu Dhabi
- UK- or Ireland-trained nurses or carers particularly well suited
- Experience supporting someone with a visual impairment desirable
- Department of Health Abu Dhabi licence, or eligibility to obtain one, desirable
- Previous private household or overseas placements desirable
- Excellent, verifiable references
The Offer
- Salary: AED 20,000–25,000 per month, depending on experience
- Full-time, long-term placement
- Live-in or live-out, to be agreed
- Working pattern agreed with the successful candidate
