EED is delighted to be representing a professional Greek family based in Al Barari, Dubai, seeking an exceptional, long-term nanny/governess for their two sons, aged 4 and 5. Both boys are fluent English speakers, and the family is looking for a trusted, consistent presence who will combine excellent childcare with a genuine educational approach to the boys’ daily life.
This is a hands-on, structured role covering the boys’ daily routine, development and education outside school hours. The successful candidate will plan age-appropriate educational activities, reading, creative play, sport and outings, reinforcing and extending what the boys learn at school rather than replacing it. Sport is a big feature of the role — running, swimming and active, creative play are all part of the boys’ week. Alongside this, the governess should encourage good manners, independence and appropriate boundaries.
The role sits within a fully staffed household, so the nanny/governess’s focus is exclusively the boys and everything relating to their routine, education and development, not general household duties.
The family travels internationally with the boys, spending summers in Greece and occasionally elsewhere in Europe. The successful candidate will be willing and able to travel as part of the role.
Typical working pattern: Monday off · Tuesday–Friday 14:00–21:00 · Saturday 10:00–20:00 · Sunday off. Some flexibility required if the boys are off school.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering age-appropriate educational activities that reinforce and extend the boys’ school learning
- Structuring a consistent, engaging after-school routine covering reading, creative play, sport and outings
- Incorporating sport and physical activity — including running, swimming and active play — as a central part of the week
- Encouraging good manners, independence and appropriate boundaries
- Providing warm, structured pastoral care and everything relating to the boys’ routine and development
- Working collaboratively with the wider household team
- Travelling internationally with the family, particularly during summers in Greece
- Communicating openly with the parents about the boys’ progress and wellbeing
Candidate Requirements
- Strong educational background
- Previous experience working in a private / UHNW household essential
- Native-level English speaker
- UK or EU passport (British candidates particularly well suited)
- Professional, warm and engaging, but above all highly responsible, organised and reliable
- Proactive and structured — able to plan and deliver age-appropriate educational and physical activities independently
- Excellent manners and communication skills
- Excellent, independently verifiable references
- Comfortable committing to a long-term, trusted placement — the family is looking for continuity, not a short-term hire
- Dubai-based candidates preferred; strong candidates based elsewhere can be flown in where necessary
- Drivers preferred but not essential — the household has drivers on staff
The Offer
- Salary: AED 5,950–7,950 per week (approx. €1,500–€2,000), depending on candidate experience and whether accommodation is required
- Candidates already based in Dubai and covering their own accommodation will be considered at the higher end of the range
- Live-in or live-out considered — live-in candidates offered comfortable, private accommodation
- 4 weeks’ (28 days) paid annual holiday
- Up to 7 paid sick days per year
- Extra days added to holiday allowance in lieu of overtime days worked during family travel periods
- Long-term placement — the family is looking for continuity
