A friendly and busy family based in Dubai who frequently travel is looking for an experienced and qualified tutor to work with their 6-year old son.

The family is looking for a qualified teacher (BA Education, QTS, PGCE) who can homeschool their son in Primary Education and is comfortable with regular travel. ‘Schooling’ would take place Monday to Friday, up to a maximum of 9 hours per day, with weekends off. Usually the mum or dad will be present, working in another part of the house.

As well as academics, the candidate should help the parents organising the little boy’s free time to ensure he does not miss out on friendships, sports or activities with other children. Ensuring he develops social skills with other kids the same age will be a key part of this role. The little boy is by all reports performing well academically, friendly and well-behaved in general.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher who is sporty and fun, and able to build a ‘big brother/ sister’ connection with the son. The little boy enjoys football, swimming and chess and is extremely competitive!

The candidate should be flexible to cope with the current schedule until it is finalised, and will ideally be well-travelled, with experience of different cultures. Emotional intelligence is also key – the governor should be a good role model able to help build the little boy’s confidence and encourage a good social life as he will not attend regular school.

Candidates who speak a second language (Mandarin or other) will be given preference, as will candidates who are confident driving.

The family does employ a driver/ bodyguard and a nanny/ cleaner, so the governor/ governess should be confident working as part of a small unit.

£1500 (7000AED)/ week salary
