An international family residing in Singapore is seeking a qualified and experienced governess/ tutor to join their household team in the care and education of their three girls, aged 2, 4 and 5. The family lives in a fully-staffed property, and each child has their own nanny/ carer.
This role involves working closely with the parents and the existing team to ensure the ongoing care and education of the children, as well as the smooth running of the children’s lives both in and out of school. Homework support will be key as the children are educated on-site by an in-house team of educators at a school. The ideal candidate would be someone who can provide additional support, ideas, and extra lessons and skills in a fun environment.
Outside of education, key responsibilities for the role will include overseeing the children’s meals and promoting healthy and nutritious diet plans for the in-house chefs to prepare. The candidate will also be expected to organise the drivers and keep them informed of the daily schedules, promote social awareness and etiquette and engage the children in arts and crafts and other healthy activities. Proxy parenting may be required at home and when travelling.
The family offers separate live-in accommodation within their extensive property, located in the centre of Singapore and well-connected for city access on days off. All food and bills are covered, and visas and all associated expenses will be taken care of by the family. Live-out accommodation can be considered for the right candidate.
The salary on offer for this position will be between 5500-7500 GBP per month, depending upon experience and qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and professional Governess/ tutor to join a supportive and generous family in a vibrant international environment.
The start for this role is September onwards and the schedule will be Mon-Fri, up to 10 hours per day with some flexibility required.
The candidate:
The ideal governess will be a native-level English speaker. The candidate should be fun, active, sporty, creative and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. Flexibility, an engaging personality, and a willingness to commit to a long-term position with the family are crucial. The candidate should have a nice respectful energy to bring to the house and be a good role model for the children.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified educator (BA Education, QTS or PGCE) with significant experience working within families in a similar role. Experience working in a school and with understanding of the British curriculum would be a plus. Previous experience working in Asia would also be a bonus, as would any additional language skills.
The offer:
£5500- 7500 GBP/ Month depending on experience and qualifications
Live-in position (live-out can be offered for the right candidate)
All visa and travel expenses to be covered by the family
4 weeks’ paid vacation; 10 days’ paid sick leave per annum
