A UK-based family spending the winter in Ibiza before moving back to the UK in spring/ summer 2021 is looking for a qualified specialist primary school teacher or tutor for their two children.

The students are twins aged 6 who are starting Year 2. They will attend a local international school on the island and will require educational support after finishing each day. Support will be academic and pastoral as the children have activities after school most days. The focus on tuition will be on practical learning and supporting the children’s foundational knowledge, whilst also preparing the children for a move to the UK school system in 2021. The contract can be extended through until August 2022 if the family and the tutor wish to work together for the following year.

Both students have some mild SEN requirements and will respond well to a creative and flexible teaching approach. The support you provide will help build up their confidence with the core academics at their level, so the family is looking for a tutor who can teach in a creative and fun way.

Homework support and continuing assessment will form the basis of the after-school academic support to ensure the children are ready for entrance to the UK school in 2021.

The family are looking for a tutor who is a highly experienced primary specialist, with previous experience working at KS1 or KS2 level either in home-schooling programmes or as a classroom teacher. Practical experience and an understanding of how to work with students with dyslexia and dyscalculia would be a plus. An ability to differentiate for each child as both have distinctive learning styles. The right candidate will have an encouraging, fun and enthusiastic educative style, that the children can feel really engaged with. The candidate should also be flexible in terms pastoral support; either organising activities and outdoor play or helping out with the school run and some nannying duties such as preparing the
children’s meals.
Travelling with the family when the family returns to the UK will be required.

4 weeks holiday + bank holidays. Holidays to be taken at times of mutual convenience.
Private accommodation within the family home; a large en-suite room with veranda.
1 return flight per year to the UK, use of a car, travel expenses when travelling with the family & all meals.
Salary of 1000 gbp/ week negotiable for the right candidate.
