An international family residing in Virginia Water is seeking a professional career nanny and early years educator for their 3-year-old daughter who is a beginner in English. The family is highly recommended by the agency, and they are looking for a top-level, long-term nanny/governess who will be responsible for introducing English to their daughter.
The successful candidate will work 5 days a week, for up to 40 hours per week, on a live-out basis. Some flexibility may be required regarding working days. No cooking or cleaning is required as the family home is fully staffed. Pets are at home.
The family offers a negotiable salary of £70,000 – £80,000 per annum for the right candidate, and UK statutory benefits for holidays and sick pay are included.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 3 years of experience working in a governess/nanny position.
A British accent and excellent references and working history.
Experience working in schools would be seen as a plus.
PGCE or early years education would be particularly relevant for this role.
Teaching experience with younger children who have no prior knowledge of English would be highly beneficial.
A good role model, proxy parenting, long-term candidate, the successful candidate should be a team player who is comfortable working within the current household setup and also helping to develop the child’s language and educational abilities long-term. A nanny/governess who continues her own professional and career development is needed.
The candidate should be prepared and organised at all times and able to use own initiative where required. Good references from previous positions are essential, and the candidate should be experienced working with a private household. A kind, flexible and calm personality is essential for the role.
The family expects the governess to accompany them on international trips as needed throughout the year. Typically, these trips will occur during school holidays. Summers will be spent at the family’s residence in France.
